development, encouraging appropriate redevelopment of older areas,
creating live / work opportunities consistent with a village
orientation.
There are great public schools and some of the finest private schools in the
U.S. located in the Ojai Valley. Graduates from the area's high schools
often move on to top tier colleges and universities. There are also UC
schools located nearby as well as a division of Brooks Institute, School of
Photography.
Ojai's main industry is tourism. Visitors
are drawn here for many reasons. Ojai's mystical and sophisticated
charm blends with old California landscapes that are reminiscent of
Tuscany. Rich textures from the orange groves to the hillside
avocado groves and grape vineyards change into deep velvety-soft
hues seen from the many trails and vistas around the valley as the
sun descends. In the wintertime, Ojai is well known for it Pink
Moment at dusk when the sky lights up the ridges for a brief time
with brilliant pinks and reds.
Talk to anybody who has been to Ojai for a
visit or has lived here and they will most likely respond with a
smile, an admiration and a yearning for this rare part of the world,
this gem we call Ojai.
